Julio Pareja is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) with specialization studies in consumer protection regulation. His professional practice focuses on financial, insurance and Fintech Regulation.
Before joining Rebaza, Alcazar & De Las Casas, he was a member of the Legal and Regulation Department of the Joint Superintendence of Legal Advice of the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and Private Fund Pensions (SBS), where he participated formulating and drafting regulation regarding financial and insurance consumer protection, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing, cybersecurity and debt and credit cards as payments platforms. He also worked at the Legal Department of La Positiva Seguros.
He served as member of the Board of Directors of the IUS ET VERITAS association, a law students’ association from the PUCP’s Law School; and as teaching assistant of Social Security lecture. Likewise, he has participated as co-author in the book “Labour and Social Security flexibility: Socioeconomic analysis, background and context during COVID-19”.
He is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
