María del Pilar Sánchez specializes in banking, insurance and private pension fund regulation; as well as in data privacy, consumer protection and compliance matters. She has a special experience in many procedures before the SBS, among which the most relevant procedures are: the Authorization of Servitebca Perú as the first e-money issuing company in Peru; the Authorizations of J.P. Morgan Banco de Inversion for its operation as the first investment bank in Peru; and the Authorizations of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China -ICBC for its operation as a Peruvian banking company. She was very active in the project’s regulations review and comments for the beginning of the investment banks operation in Perú. She participates as speaker at conferences and is author of various articles on different regulatory issues.

Maria del Pilar is a graduate Summa Cum Laude lawyer ranked first by Universidad Católica de Santa María. She holds MBA studies and a Capital Market specialization from the Postgraduate program of Universidad ESAN as well as a Master in Corporate Law from Universidad Católica de Santa María, where she was ranked first.

Maria del Pilar Sánchez has participated in different financings operations and regulatory matters on transactions involving the sale & purchas of entities of the financial and insurance system. Some of the relevant transactions were: Mercantil Bank N.A. in several import and working capital financings to important Peruvian companies such as, PetroPerú, Tecnológica de Alimentos S.A., Alicorp S.A., Quimpac S.A., Gloria S.A. Corporación Aceros Arequipa S.A., Ferreyros, Refinería La Pampilla S.A., Papelera Nacional S.A.; Developing World Market in the acquisition of 25% of the stock capital and Capital Contribution to Entidad de Desarrollo a la Pequeña y Micro Empresa MiCasita S.A; Rigel Perú Compañía de Seguros de Vida S.A. in the acquisition process of 50% of its shares by DT Rigel and 50% by Euroamérica S.A.; Creation Investments Andes LLC in the acquisition of 90% of Caja Rural Los Andes to Peruvian Andes Corporation S.A.; Edpyme Acceso Crediticio S.A. for the entry of the fund Próspero Microfinanzas Fund, L.P. as shareholder through the capitalization of a bridge loan; DWM FUNDS S.C.A. – SICAV SIF in the acquisition of a minority package of shares in the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Entity – Edpyme Créditos Arequipa S.A.

She also advises on corporate and regulatory issues to well-known domestic and international entities -such us J.P. Morgan Chase and its subsidiary JP Morgan Banco de Inversion, GM Financial del Perú, Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A., Mercantil Bank (Amerant), Novopaymet, EFG Capital, Genworth Financial Insurance, Crowdcredit, Bank of China, Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior (Bladex), Banco General de Panamá, Banco Mercantil de Venezuela, Sigma SAFI, Banco de Comercio, Edpyme Acceso Crediticio, Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Abaco, Jockey Plaza, Rigel Perú, among others. Furthermore, she advises big-data, startups and fintech companies, being the most relevant transactions in this field the following: FIT Big Data – First Peruvian Micro Lending and Scoring company- in regulatory issues regarding a loan program by an international finance group and Grupo Crédito in regulatory issues for the acquisition of shares of the following Peruvian fintech companies: Compañía Soluciones Móviles (Culqi), the first corporate venture transaction done in Perú; Comercio Digital Integral (Lumingo), a subsidiary of the “El Comercio” Group; and Wally POS SAC.
