Arbitration

  • Representation of a public company in a construction arbitration, in which the fulfillment of contractual obligations involving the payment of more than US$ 7 MM was discussed.
  • Representation of private companies and consortiums in several arbitrations administered by the Cámara de Comercio de Lima and the Centro de Análisis y Resolución de Conflictos – CARC PUCP in matters of government contracts, in which the fulfillment of contractual obligations, the termination and nullity of the contract, the execution of guarantees and the liquidation of the contract were discussed.
  • Representation of an important company dedicated to the commercialization of electric energy in a breach and termination of contract arbitration.
  • Representation of a company specialized in fiduciary services in an arbitration about the execution of a trust estate.

  • Representation of one of the most important private clinics in the country in medical liability proceedings.
  • Representation of clinics and insurance companies in several administrative litigation proceedings derived from administrative sanctioning procedures initiated by SUSALUD and INDECOPI.

Ligia Serrano is an associate in the Litigation and Arbitration departments. Her practice focuses on the design of strategy and defense in arbitration in civil, commercial, construction and government contracting matters. She also has professional experience in judicial proceedings in civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional matters, annulment and enforcement of awards, among others.

Ligia is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, graduated with a “very good” mention for her thesis entitled “A cure for the omission of judgment in first instance sentences in the Peruvian civil process: between integration and nullity” and graduated in the sixth position of her class. During and after her studies at law school, she has been a teaching assistant on Constitutional, Civil and Civil Procedure Law courses.

Ligia is an extraordinary member of the Ius Et Veritas association and an associate member of the Grupo de Investigación sobre Proceso, Derecho y Justicia (PRODEJUS – PUCP).

Before joining the firm, Ligia completed her pre-professional internship and worked as a lawyer in the Litigation and Arbitration areas of De Bracamonte, Haaker y Castellares Abogados.
