Experience
  • Representation of a Peruvian state agency overseeing the national hydrocarbons market against four companies in the sector and their international parent corporations in an international arbitration administered by the ICC, as well as in a precautionary measure proceeding before Peruvian courts. The dispute arose from a License Agreement for the exploitation of an oil field in the Peruvian jungle.
  • Representation of a private equity investment firm and a multinational telecommunications tower construction company against their Peruvian subsidiaries and legal representatives in an international arbitration administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The dispute involved the exercise of political rights within the Board of Directors and disputes related to a call for funds.
  • Representation of a Peruvian state-owned hydrocarbons company against its supplier in eight arbitrations administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The disputes centered on the supplier’s breach of fuel delivery obligations.
  • Representation of a television content production and broadcasting company against its supplier in an arbitration administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The dispute concerned the breach of a contractual exclusivity clause and the enforcement of contractual penalties.
  • Representation of a multinational electrification technologies company against an electricity distribution company in an arbitration administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The matter involved the return of guarantee letters stemming from contracts related to substations and electrical transformers.
  • Representation of an electricity distribution company against an electricity generation company in an arbitration administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce. The dispute focused on the termination of a power supply contract for the metropolitan area of Lima.
  • Representation of a multinational food logistics and storage company against a port operator during the pre-arbitral stage and negotiation phase. The dispute arose from the breach of operational obligations under a usufruct contract.
  • Representation of a multinational chemicals company against a public healthcare institution in civil court proceedings. The dispute involved a sales contract for medical equipment.
  • Representation of a private individual against an office sublease company in civil court proceedings over the eviction of property due to precarious occupation.
  • Representation of the general manager of an infrastructure investment holding company against a state regulatory body in administrative court proceedings. The matter concerned the interpretation of administrative liability rules within the framework of an administrative proceeding.
  • Representation of a Chilean metal and plastic manufacturing company against a Peruvian metal foundry company in civil court proceedings. The dispute involved civil liability resulting from an administrative sanction.
  • Representation of a Brazilian commodities distribution and transportation company against various companies in Lima and provinces in extrajudicial negotiations, transactions, and civil court proceedings. The disputes focused on the payment of invoices for delivered goods and the enforcement of negotiable instruments.
  • Representation of private individuals who are members of a family group in civil court proceedings. The dispute concerned the ownership of assets within the framework of a testamentary succession process involving co-heirs.
  • Representation of a financial services company specializing in leasing and factoring against a timber company in civil court proceedings. The dispute involved the enforcement of a negotiable instrument and the repossession of a vehicle.

Alejandro Robles is a member of the Arbitration and Litigation departments of the Firm.

He graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru Law School and is certified from the Private International Law Program at The Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands.

His practice focuses on advising and representing companies in domestic and international arbitrations related to construction, hydrocarbons, telecommunications, energy, corporate law, and other sectors. He also has experience advising and representing companies and private individuals in civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional proceedings before the Judicial System.

Alejandro has extensive experience participating in Moot Court competitions in Commercial and Investment Arbitration with the team from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, in countries such as the United States, Peru, Ecuador and Spain. He was a Top 8 Finalist in the 12th International Investment Arbitration Competition (Washington D.C.), a Semifinalist in the 2024 Pre-Moot Peru (Lima), where he also won the Best Speaker Award, a Top 16 Finalist in the 17th International Arbitration Competition (Quito), and is set to participate in the 17th International Arbitration and Commercial Law Competition (Madrid). Additionally, he is an assistant coach for the team participating in the 13th International Investment Arbitration Competition (Bogota).

He has been an associate member of THEMIS-Law Review and is currently an Extraordinary Member of the Association. He has served as a Teaching Assistant in Constitutional Law 1 and Theory of Conflict and Mechanisms of Solution subjects, and currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Contracts subject at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru Law School. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Arbitration Newsletter of the Peruvian Group of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Peru).

During his university years, he was a student representative on the General Studies Faculty of Arts Council, the University Assembly, and the University Board of Directors of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has also won international awards in Debate Competitions organized by Harvard University with the Peruvian Debate Society, where he has also served as a coach.

Prior to joining the Firm, Alejandro completed his first pre-professional internship in the Dispute Resolution department at Payet. Rey, Cauvi, Pérez Law Firm in 2022. He then continued his internship in the Litigation and Arbitration department at Rebaza, Alcázar & De Las Casas Law Firm during 2023 and 2024.

He is fluent in Spanish and English.
