Fabio Núñez del Prado is a tri-qualified lawyer who graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, graduated as valedictorian and with summa cum laude honors. He did an LL.M. at Yale Law School, receiving honors in all graded courses, and was editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. In addition, he attended the Hague Academy of International Law and Arbitration Academy in Paris. Fabio specializes in commercial and investment arbitration, civil law, and international commercial law. He is a civil and common law lawyer, having been admitted as a lawyer in Peru, the New York Bar, and the Roll of Solicitors of England and Wales.

In addition to his professional experience at the firm, he interned at the ICC International Court of Arbitration (Paris) and WilmerHale (London) and was an associate at the international arbitration group of Uría Menéndez (Madrid), as well as the international arbitration practice of Clifford Chance (Washington DC). Fabio has participated in more than 50 arbitrations administered by the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the International Center for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association (ICDR), the International Arbitration Center of Madrid (CIAM) and the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL). Additionally, he has participated in ad hoc arbitrations, ex aequo et bono arbitrations, emergency arbitration procedures, precautionary measures, dispute boards, annulment procedures, international mediations, and treaty planning. Fabio is Co-Chair of the Spanish Arbitration Club under 40 (CEA-40) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).

Fabio is a professor of Contracts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and has also been a professor of courses related to arbitration and international law at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, the Universidad del Pacífico, the Universidad Científica del Sur, and the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. He has published articles in Latin American, North American, and European law journals and won the CIArb New York Branch Articles Competition. He is the author of the books “Demystifying Myths,” “The Tragedy of Consent” and co-author of “Paper Justice”. Fabio is a former member of the THĒMIS Board of Directors and the Law PUCP Editorial Council. He has been a speaker at conferences in different countries, such as the United States, England, Spain, Norway, and Guatemala, among others.

Fabio has been recognized as “Star Associate” and “Up-and-Coming” in Chambers & Partners and as “Rising Star” and “Next Generation Partner” in Legal 500. Very involved in the world of tennis, Fabio frequently plays first-category tennis tournaments of the Peruvian Tennis Federation and ITF senior tournaments, having also developed a great interest in sports arbitration.

He is fluent in Spanish and English and has knowledge of French.
