Alejandra Galvez is an associate of the Projects and Infrastructure area, where she specializes in matters related to administrative, regulatory and contractual law, with special emphasis on advising on the development of projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme, as well as on public contracts and the tax regime for works.

Alejandra graduated from Universidad de Lima with a summa cum laude degree. She finished her career located in the upper fifth of her class and, as a student, she was President of the Board of Directors of Advocatus Magazine, a magazine published by the students of the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Lima.

In her years as a member of the Projects and Infrastructure area, Alejandra has accumulated an integral experience in matters related to PPPs, providing advice to both the public sector and private sector companies for the development of projects.

Her most outstanding experience with the public sector has been advising the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión), provided jointly with Hogan Lovells, for the preparation of (i) a standard PPP contract that incorporates the best international practices, and (ii) a contractual guide that accompanies the competent public agencies during the Structuring Phase of each project, so that they can adequately apply the provisions set forth in the standard contract, taking into account the particular characteristics of each project.

In addition to the above, when advising private sector companies, Alejandra has participated in all the stages required for the development of PPP projects, from the presentation of a private initiative and/or during the selection process called by the competent organism until the contractual execution phase.

Alejandra also has experience in public contracting, both under the general regime regulated by the Law of State Contracting, as well as under special regimes, such as the Regulation of Acquisitions and Contracting of Petroperu, among others. Her experience includes advising during selection processes and contract execution, as well as during the processing of administrative appeals and arbitrations.

In addition, Alejandra has experience in advising for the development of projects under the regime of works for taxes, which is a special regime created by the Peruvian State in order to facilitate the execution of projects that would have been prioritized for their high social impact, allowing private sector companies to finance and execute investment projects, and that the amount invested be used by the referred companies against the payment on account and regularization of their income tax.
