Sonia Queija is a member of the litigation and arbitration practice. She specializes in the advisory, the design of strategies and defense in national and international commercial arbitrations and arbitrations under the Law of State Contracts, regarding civil-contractual, construction, energy, technology and mining matters, under the rules of several institutions such as the Internacional Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the Lima Chamber of Commerce, among others.

 She also specializes in judicial proceedings regarding civil-contractual, consumer protection’s regulation, telecommunications and energy matters, as well as proceedings regarding the annulment and enforcement of arbitration awards, among others.

Sonia Queija is a lawyer by the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, top of her class.

She has been adjunct professor of the Commercial Arbitration course at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and teaching assistant of the Arbitration course at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.

Sonia Queija is the current Director of Lima Very Young Arbitration Practitioners and a former Director of Arbitraje Alumni.

She was a member of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas’ team that obtained the first place in the VIII International Arbitration Competition organized by Universidad Carlos Tercero de Madrid and the VIII International Arbitration Competition organized by Universidad de Buenos Aires, in which she obtained the award for best speaker.

Sonia Queija has participated in the publication “Nuevo Comentario del Código Civil Peruano” coordinated by Juan Espinoza Espinoza and has published several articles about arbitration and contracts.
